What a great article! This is among those things that most of us don't stop to think about, yet it really makes sense. It actually made me think about a piece on ABC News, wherein a mentally disabled grocery bagger (actually an actor) was harassed for being a retard (by an actress). The store's real customers were being tested on whether or not they'd react to such harassment. We should reconsider which group is more disabled, those with actual disabilities due to birth defects, disease, or injury, or those who just don't care. The research puts the shoe on the other foot, and one wonders what excuses the "able bodied" no-shows offered - if any?

Thanks. I have supervised at workshops for the disabled and have done job-coaching for the disabled as well. I have witnessed firsthand how when given a chance, many exceed all expectations and many surpass the production levels of their "able-bodied" counterparts!
