juggleI know today’s short post might come as a surprise to regular readers of this blog, but even though I promote the heck out of social media use for small business, I see a dangerous side as well.

Some small business folks equate busy with business. The problem with social media usage is it can keep you really, really busy, without producing a dime of business.

The challenge is an in person approach if your clients are largely global. Very few of mine are in easy driving distance. I think it depends on the kind of market and where it's located.

Great reminder by John in this post and the comment thread that follows on his site. I agree, too, if you're not out there in person or on the phone making a deeper connection with your customers and prospects, then you may need to add to or get off the social media and start selling in person.
