With the recent rollout of emojis for Twitter’s desktop version and the addition of Yelp’s emoji search function, it’s safe to say that emojis are becoming an integral part of the Internet landscape. And even though world-class companies like Twitter and Yelp are hopping on the emoji train, there are still some platforms that don't support emojis. Find out what platforms are pro-emoji and where you might need to go emoji-free.

At least in the interim, if you're using Chrome, you can add an extension (Show Me Emoji) that translates the black and white boxes into emojis so you know what they're meant to say. You can also select the emojis you want, copy and paste the black and white boxes back in, and the smartphone user should be able to see them. Hopefully more and more platforms will adopt the very visual form of writing, because it's obvious that people love it. We'd love to see more small business owners using them as a fun way to communicate with their customers.

I can't use them with my Android - I've tried and tried, disappointed.

How come that emojis are so popular these days?! ;) How do you think that small business owners could use these special symbols in order to convey a personal tone to the conversations?
