Establishing a social media presence for your company requires a marketing strategy and consistent execution. When you are a sole proprietor, and you are the major part of your company brand, it can be easy to blur the lines between social media for business and your private life. It's the tagging thing I find really disturbing. I had a friend tagged in a photo. It showed up on my wall. The thing I found alarming was I knew no one else in the photo - by name or by face - including a cute little toddler with no clothes on. It was a totally innocent photo but I certainly don't my that happening to my family. While I can't prevent it altogether, I can certainly make sure I'm not responsible for promoting the practice.

You could "untag" the photo if you want. I think we will see more of this tagging practice in the future, including information about your geographical location at the moment. I think it is good that you have written this post in order for us to reflect on this issue.

Sarah Mitchell: I have only posted a few profile pictures, but I have been "tagged" by friends who have taken pictures of me. I post the main part of my photos on Flickr.
