Excellent post...

The sharing of content has really become a social act in and of itself as well as a status symbol. I liked the point about email being more personal as well. It will be interesting to see how Google+ alters the flow of content since it is inherently more personal then FB or Twitter.

It's too early to tell what will happen with Google+, but I am sure it will be big. They're definitely brewing something in their labs :)

Yeah. Google+ is going to change a lot in the social space and it is still difficult to get a picture of how.

Hi Alastair.

I especially liked # 2. People involved in branding sometimes over-estimate their effectiveness, unless the brand is so giant it's everywhere (even then, I personally couldn't care less - but I'm a skeptic).

I'm with you on that one Duncan. Way too many people concern themselves with branding when they realistically don't have one. It can be important but often these same companies pay little to no attention to who their customers are and what they want.
