Automation - a lot has been said about it recently. But in the end, does it help or is it a marketer's enemy? The post overviews just that. Take a look!

Hi Dan, I agree that automation is useful. I use it to schedule and post my blogs. I also like Buffer where I can tweet interesting articles such as this but space my discoveries over a period of time. Automation should NEVER replace direct customer communication but it’s great for recommendations, news, etc.

Thanks for sharing!

Daniel,

I think the truth is there's a balance to be set. Perhaps what those opposing automation are really responding to is the idea that you can automate your social media maybe a week in advance and then not bother to even check in with your channel to respond to possible daily engagement. This approach would clearly be a mistake and would obviously send the message that your social channels are simply automated streams of content with no one "real" behind them for your audience to engage. On the other hand, automating some content to give you time and flexibility to respond to your audience appropriately will clearly improve your social media presence. This kind of automation improves your productivity and, by extension, the quality of your social media engagement.
