Thanks, Mark. Great post. As a professional blogger I agree these are all important points. I would reinforce the idea of focused content attracting relevant search both in ranking for keywords and the kind of traffic this ranking will draw. Not that a good blog should ever be written simply for the search engines. But ideally a blog with good relevant content should draw inbound links which in turn improve its search ranking and attract more relevant traffic.
