Google is adding Google+ on Blogger blogs. Do you think that this new feature will give other comment services, e.g., Disqus, Livefyre and CommentLuv a fighting match?

Teepu: WordPress has its own comment system called IntenseDebate. I like Disqus because you get a profile and could follow your comments over time. The good thing with Google+ comments is the integration with other Google services. It will be interesting to follow the battle between the different services. I remember back in the day when I had to add a 3rd party comment system to my Blogger blog and then the service stopped after some time. The comment element is a very important part in the blogosphere.

Martin, I'm using wordpress' usual comment script(since I'm using wordpress for it) . But when I saw disqus on other blogs, I think I like it also.

Martin: Google seems to see most of what is very useful for them to be combined with their other services. Great post! Thanks for sharing it to the community.

Heather: Yes, exactly so! It is "elementary my dear Watson"! ;) It will be interesting to follow the development of Google+'s different ways of adding "pluses" to the world wide web...

Valentine: Thanks for your comment! Do you have a favorite comment service tool?

Hi Martin,

It's an interesting feature. As is the case with other commenting tools however, I sometimes wonder about the wisdom of making it necessary to interact with yet another social network just to allow someone to comment on your blog. Is it really good for your blog engagement or just good for Google+? And how many comments does it discourage from those who don't yet have a Google+ account (yes, there are still some) or who don't want to sign into it just to comment on your blog?

Heather, I really love your point of view. To the fact that I know Google is a huge one, my mind will simply decide to use Google.

Heather: Thanks for your comment. You are raising a good question and that was the point between the lines in my blog post! ;) I think that Google's main idea with Google+ is to make the users more "linked in" (pun intended!) with other Google products and at the same time try to keep its #1 search engine position with the +1 feature.
