As one of the most recognizable social networks in existence, Twitter is known as a must-have for nearly any type of business. It is one of the top three networks, where Twitter, along with Facebook and Google+, make up the major social media networks in the United States.

Worldwide, Twitter has a penetration of more than 40 percent in terms of account ownerships. The statistics (via Jeff Bullas) also reveal that Twitter has impressively grown within the past 12 months (just under 50 percent in terms of active usage), and it is widely used for daily news.

How many promoted accounts are around? How much does it cost to have a premium Twitter account? I am thinking of getting one due to the fact that I have problem with getting new followers at the moment, due to Twitter's follow limit rule after you have reached 2000 followers / tweeps that you follow.
