Instagram has received lots of press in the last week and you may be thinking about starting an account now. With both photo and video capabilities, this is a great tool to get exposure for your brand. But, if you don’t have an account yet, you’re probably wondering how to get started.

I've never really gotten into to instagram, although I do have one. I haven't really seen the use for in within my business but I suppose I should give it more of a look. Thanks for sharing your insights.

Thanks Ti. It can be appropriate for some businesses more than others and I don't recommend it for every business. But it is a fun platform, even if just for personal use.

It is worth realizing though, that IG can be more than just photos. With video now, and the right use of comments and interactions, it's possible to grow your fan base for business applications.

Jenn: Thanks for your starter manual! I will follow you. I got "hooked" on Instagram and had to check all my followers updates several times per day in the past. Nowadays I check it now and then. Instagram is a great distributing tool for other social media channels. You take one picture and you could then share it on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr post, Foursquare check-in, etc.

Thanks for the follow and for connecting. I agree with your sharing philosophy and I utilize it as well. After uploading a photo to IG, I will often share that photo to other sites for additional exposure (although, disclaimer here, I do not actually link my sites to IG).

Sadly! I'm not a fan of Instagram as it's an app and would need an internet conneciton for you to upload pictures. I don't have an internet plan yet but when I do, maybe I can actually try this!
