Great article, Jenn. This is something that more biz's need to be doing. While FB is good for building up a fan base, you should always aim to lead them back to your home base. Thanks for sharing with us.

Great post, Jenn! This is a topic I need to write about, but now feel I am a bit late with things.

I don't think we can be too late with this topic. It has flared up recently but this has been an ongoing issue for quite some time and I think it will continue to be an ongoing issue for a while longer. If you have something to add to the conversation, then I think you should write about it!

Jenn: Do you advice to leave Facebook even if your customers are spending plenty of time? Personally, I will keep my like pages but I will test out Google+ more in the future. Do you think that Facebook has jumped the shark now?

I don't advise anyone to abandon Facebook. I think Facebook pages are still a very necessary portion of most social media strategies.

I just think that businesses need to be aware of the realities of using Facebook and be aware of the other alternatives available.

I've written numerous times about the importance of having fans follow us to other platforms (no matter which one you use primarily) because they are all "rented" space. It's important to be as diversified as possible.

And I hope that Facebook will see what's going on and adjust their model. But in the meantime, we need to do the best we can with what they give us.

And you can find me on Google+ more often now! ;)
