If you are a teacher, or spend any time talking with one, you probably know that the in-class use of social media is a scourge of daily class activity. It’s frustrating for lecturers - or even one-on-one tutors - to have to stanch a brazen tweet or like in mid-sentence. However, constructive uses of social media in education is becoming an integral (and one might venture inevitable) part of the learning experience. Here’s a look at how so, at every stage of the game.

Yes and no. As someone who lectured math in high school, I can say that team work can be encouraged through social media; maybe not in classroom because it may be a diversion and a potential tool for cheating. I'm speaking in general terms. Pros and cons of social media should be taught to students starting at 5th grade, as well as perils of internet and evils that can come with it. As long as someone is using internet carefully and responsibly to help others, and not hurt them - many great things can come from it.

Totally agree Sean that, "Pros and cons of social media should be taught to students starting at 5th grade, as well as perils of internet and evils that can come with it."
