As we start 2014 everyone should be looking at their social media strategies. Facebook and Twitter will still be big in 2014. But what about LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google+, Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr…? My advice is to look at the “other” sites to see how they can be incorporated into your strategy.

Jenn: Thanks for your input. I also think that Google+ will gain popularity during this year, with features like Hangout chats and +1 for bookmarking. Due to the fact that Google+ is prioritized by Go ogle search engine, SE advantage is pretty clear.

Have you tested Rebel Mouse as a visualization of your life stream? It has the same feel as Pinter est and Ingram.

I don't know about Snap chat and PhD. It could be a generation thing, but it feels like a fad in a way.

Path and Medium are tight networks, bonding together with a smaller crowd. I think the specialization could the the wave of the future. The question is how hard it is to get used to the network and have in integrated in your daily life.

Jenn: What do you think will come after Google+, Pinterest and LinkedIn? Medium, Path and other selective networks?

I do think G+ will gain momentum this year and be taken more seriously as a social media site, even if only for SEO reasons.

Pinterest and Instagram will grow exponentially this year with the prevalence of visual marketing.

As for the more niche platforms like Medium, Path, Pheed, Snapchat, I honestly don't know what to expect.
