Is Pinterest is joining the ranks of LinkedIn in the job search process?

“We love Pinterest, almost as much as we love ‘outside of the box’ thinking. We’re not a boring company, so why create a boring job posting,” Scott Procops Social and Digital Media Manager for New Traditionalist said.

Interesting. At first I thought the post would be more about this company analyzing the Pinterest boards of prospective employees, a thing I'm not sure is all to fantastic. I was glad to see it was the reverse. Although, it should be able to work that way too, don't you think? But people would have to be very careful about what they pinned, and I'm not sure the images chosen would really speak to the skills of the employee...although maybe something superficial would be possible. What do you think?

Hi Heather - Thanks for your comment! I do think it could go both ways. I think Pinterest boards can show some good qualities of prospective employees for example their creativity and their personal interests. I agree with you that it may not be a good thing to have employers looking at Pinterest boards. I think people should always be careful with the content they put on-line.
