Good point Susan and I very much doubt many clients have got much of a clue, but it is important, I think, when hiring a Social Media consultant, that the consultant is aware of what one is and that his/hers is at least reasonably significant. A high Klout score doesn't mean much perhaps in reality, someone could have sat down for the last 6 months and just sent Tweets and engaged people of Facebook, but I doubt it. I've got my Twitter feed connected to Klout so I can see who is who Klout wise and, once again, it doesn't mean that much, but it does give me an idea of how much engagement people have on Twitter and Facebook. The important issue is Re Tweets and you don't get those from people for nothing, it's as basic as that and if all your RT's came from one source, it would stand out like a sore thumb. It's a measurement of Social Media engagement and if you haven't much score, you are not practicing what you preach. As I say, it's not the be all and end all, but it does give you an idea of who you are dealing with. Thanks for the comment, best regards, Peter

Hi Peter,

I have to ask do clients actually know or care about Klout scores? Are there any studies that show this is a part of their decision making process?

Susan
