Charles Mburugu has a written an eyeopener to post! I have made these mistakes myself, especially point number 3 ( Posting in a similar way in all your accounts). I have become better in having patience in "expecting similar results across all networks". I think that the first point (Failing to make use of newer, smaller social networks) could work both ways. I have tested new and smaller networks and sometime spent too much time on them, without any output. But I am open to test new and smaller networks in the future! I having this as an argument to the people who are complaining on how dominant Facebook is. Facebook started small and become big. It is always a potential competitor out there...
