Of those companies listed on Fortune1000's list, 75% of those actively online have conducted some form of Social Media Marketing. However, 50% of these ventures into cyberspace were unsuccessful. Brands who are constantly working towards improving themselves in the new world of Social Media Marketing will naturally suffer setbacks in the process. Companies which have history of being present on the internet and having worked through the means of Social Media should carefully consider what they have done before and ask themselves if they could have done some things more successfully. Likewise, companies new to the online community would be wise to take some advice from past attempts by their competitors and partners' experiences.
