I'm looking forward to 2015 as a time for exploring, building, experimenting, discovering, and learning. Many of us like to make New Year's resolutions in January – which rarely survive February – but this year mine are designed to last forever.

Good question, Lyceum - is it proven? All I know is that as a consumer, it turns me right off. Having said that, it may not bother others.

Ryan: Personally, I am all for your points and especially this new resolution: "Shut the pop up." But it will be hard to manage this for many small business sites, I think. Is it not a proven way to get email addresses to your mailing list, or promote a certain offer or content material at this right moment?
