Thank you for sharing this. I have had people who asked for recommendations and I didn't personally know them so I couldn't recommend them. I thought it was kind of strange that they would ask me because I was never a client of theirs or used their services.

I'm not a big fan of the 'endorsements'. It's more of a gimmick to me. But people do look at it, so it still has some value. And LinkedIn's search algorithm gives profiles with lots of endorsements more weight in search results, so we can't completely disregard them !
