Amongst us (that is bloggers and social media addicts) we know the rules of commenting on other blogs and so we tend to assume that other people who engage with our blogs understand the ground rules of commenting. We trust our readers. But is this really a wise thing to do?

I agree that a blog comment policy is important. Currently I don't have one for my blog but I plan to come up with one soon. The comments on my blog are pretty substantive even without a commenting policy but I still think it'd be a good idea to create one. Thanks for sharing your insights with us on this topic.

You're welcome Ti. I didn't have my own comment policy before I wrote this article. Future will tell if there is any "real use" of the thing but it don't consider it much effort so there's no harm either.
