Twitter has long offered great opportunities for local businesses to connect with customers through social media. The recent makeover makes that even more true.

Thanks for the clarification. How do you get the emojis on your smartphone? I have had them in the past, but don't remember how to add them.

There's an emoji free app that you can download on the iPhone, and then you'll need to go to your settings->General->Keyboard->Keyboards and select the emoji language keyboard (just like you would for any other foreign language keyboard). Happy emoji-ing!

I didn't know that you could use emojis in the new Twitter version. Do you think that the local pizza place will utilize this feature?

It's definitely a way for local shops to show that they're socially savvy, and a fun way to connect with their customers. To be clear, Twitter isn't letting you use emojis, it's just allowing them to show up. You still need to post from your iPhone using emojis for them to be available. There are browser extensions available that let you do it from desktop, however.
