Every entrepreneur I know is short on resources, including time, money, and skills. The last thing they can afford is to waste any of these, but in my mentoring and coaching activities, I see it happening all too often. Waste in a startup is any activity that absorbs resources, but creates no value or competitive advantage in the eyes of customers.

Hey Martin these are some great tips! I definitely agree with making sure to spend 20% of your time and energy on what will yield 80% of the actual results. The 80/20 principle never fails.

Marty: Could you mention some North American companies that have been good at applying the lean principle throughout their organizations? If your business is lean, you will use your limited resources in an efficient way and that will lead to an effective leadership!
