I don't quantify being an expert. As I say, fake it til you make it. At first, it's more important that others see you as an expert. As you have achievements, you'll feel that way too.

Hi Susan,

Of course, everyone learns on the job, whether they work for themselves or for someone else. Just be sure you know the difference between something you have at least the basic skills to figure out and a situation where you are in way over your head. Thanks for sharing with the BizSugar community!

Agreed. I guess that should be the caveat: you can't do it all. Figure out what you're good at and hire for the rest.
