You have provided a nice list of steps to take before you can open the doors to your business. I must say before you can even take those steps you need to look in the mirror and ask tough questions about yourself - do you have what it takes to be a business owner, do you have sufficient financial savings to last for several months, do you have full support of your family and so on. Only after you have answered these questions and convinced yourself that you have what it takes to be an independent business owner should you go ahead with the next steps.

AngelBiz, thanks for your invaluable contribution. Yes, these questions have to be asked and answered to know one's right position before taking a leap.

Sometimes waiting to have all the money you need before starting a small business would mean you can hardly start at all.

Getting the support of the family is okay especially from your nuclear family. You must seek the support of your spouse and children and let everyone be committed to it otherwise they see it as your sole project.
