The low budget startup is designed to remove barriers for getting into business but also to create a business with little overhead and hopefully little or no debt before generating revenue.

Understandably the author is trying to make a point. In the first example, I can tell you I spent more than this on hosting and a Web platform to get our blogging service up and running but I think it's often helpful to look at how cheaply you could do things instead of seeing things as insurmountable because of all the costs.

Shawn, this is a good article for anyone thinking they don't have enough money to start a business.

However, I do think most of these will take more than $20 to start. :)

But not that much more.
