The strategy is great, but the key is execution. It takes time and effort, but the payoff will be worth it.

Shawn - Definitely true. Occasionally it may work..but in the long run = bad idea :)

David,

I like point number 4 the best. Seth Godin (and I guess other marketers) have argued against indiscriminately sending e-mail to everyone whose e-mail address you happen to get a hold of. It probably won't earn you customers.

Hey Martin. LOVE the Poken!!!! And shoeboxed, yes I was looking for that the other day. Chris Brogan mentioned it to me.

Thanks for reminding me, you are the man! Looking forward to checking out your site.

David,

I want to test Poke at some time. It looks like a fun and useful gadget.

I learned about Shoeboxed at a webinar on September 30.

Thanks! Talk to you soon again.

David Siteman Garland: Great tip! Have you heard about the social media business card called Poken? I wrote a post on this gadget in August.

I am thinking of using a service called Shoeboxed sometime in the future, when I am back in America. They are scanning all your receipts, business cards, etc.
