When you buy cheap web hosting, you buy poison. If you don’t know how to self-host, your business is at risk as cheap hosts don’t care about your problems.

Interesting article, one I would recommend to my clients to have a read. In my experience working with a variety of hosting companies (with GoDaddy being one the most popular ones), they tend to overload servers in order to distribute their costs and therefore afford to offer a cheap price. I've seen examples of servers with +4000 websites running, well, barely running!

Hopefully people are educated more and more and will move away from cheap hostings into cloud
