It’s doubtful that no two words in an entrepreneur’s vocabulary are procrastinated over more than these two: “Business Planning”. But you don't need a 100 page document to steer your business towards its goals, keep it simple, break it up into "mini plans" for each business function and keep it updated. Here are some tips for creating a simple business plan that can help guide you to success, while pre-empting bumps along the way.

Great post on business plans. I think what everyone gets stuck on, and what always intimidated me when I was getting started, is that somehow if your plan isn't in the right format or created the right way it will impact your business. But unless you plan to go for funding immediately, something very few entrepreneurs these days are doing anyway with tight financing from banks and other lenders, is that really a business plan only has to be useful to you. (And maybe to a couple of other people who are working with you.) You can even update it as you go along and things change. A business plan doesn't need to be in any particular form. It's just got to be something you can refer to while running your business day to day.
