In 1991 Eddie Jordan set up Jordan Grand Prix where he gave F1 legend Michael Schumacher his first drive at that level. In his time in F1 Jordan gained a reputation for negotiating major sponsorship deals, generating huge amounts of valuable PR, and offering opinionated insight from the paddock. In 1999 his driver Heinz Harold Frentzen finished a very creditable third in the F1 championship, the team's highest placing.
