Last week while we were hard at work a Bugatti sold for $30 Million, a Picasso fetched $117 Million and the proud owner moved into his $1 Billion condo! So when pricing our business goods and services, do we market toward the "Average Joe" or the obscenely-rich? An offbeat look at the issue of setting biz prices.

Yoni,

One again a great post and story. Just one question for you and others, when you set your price do you include overheads so that your costs are always covered and you make a profit?

Susan, Thanks so much for your kind words! Profit? PROFIT?!! What is that??! All kidding aside, no real overhead, I just do the work, end up doing rewrites and edits until the client is satisfied and by that time I've done so much "unpaid" extra work/bending over backwards to please the client, that I squeak out a modest profit. One day I'll get my act together and put my foot down...I'll tell clients that endless rewrites are billable...then I'll start to actually make a decent living. Regards,

Yoni

Devon, Thank you so much for your kind comments. Yes, the issue of setting prices is a complicated one, perhaps not as complicated as I parodied it to be...just having a bit of fun! Thanks, Yoni

Yonatan, $@#&ing Brilliant! An awesome look at the many issues and itricacies of pricing. I hope one of those three, or even all of them contact you for a job. You could earn enough to retire in one week, and I'm sure they would not even feel it in their wallet! Thanks for a great read, Devon
