I try to avoid those types of business models. It looks like Stella is taking a different path as well.

You're right, Ileane. After a month in MLM, I did not like the marketing approach and that attrition was very high, while seeking for other marketing channels I found blogging and my mentor taught me that onv=ce you have the tool (marketing), you can sell anything - but usually many people get in to MLM first and later be forcing products down people's throats. Not my style because in my consulting practice, we win bids and sales with written words.

Hi Ileane.

I've heard (from a very reliable source) that MLM (multi-level-marketing) is nothing but the old "Pyramid" scheme in a new guise.

Hi Duncan, the truth is that MLM works but for a few people who already had a sizable network online or offline; and if one starts blogging, it's ideal to learn how to market without "forcing' and then it's easy to be a better MLM person. I hate to now that I got a downline and that person struggled, spent so much time toiling but never covered the joining fee. But blogging and affiliate marketing can be started with less than $100 and one can work hard and make profit, without cajoling anybody. I have friends who make 5 figures every month from MLM but they are at the top of the pyramid.
