I have installed DuckDuckGo on my browser and I use more and more. You get different search results and another picture of the search engine landscape.

Thanks again for mentioning Google Ideas, I will do some research on it.

We should stand up for freedom of speech in every instance and location. Without this freedom of expression, we are lost.

I will do that. What do you think about Google blocking certain search results in different parts of the world? Talking about search engines, have you been using DuckDuckGo?

If you are referring to things like The Right To Be Forgotten, I can see both sides to the argument. While I understand why certain users would want negative stories (news clips, articles, etc) about themselves removed, it is difficult to work around the American ideal of freedom of speech. If the majority of people in other countries wish for some searches to be blocked, that's fine. I just think it's a problem when those same restrictions apply to the American domain of Google.

I have not been using DuckDuckGo, but I do know that it's the "search engine that doesn't track you," which is a direct jab at other large search engine's practices--like Google. Have you been using it? What do you think?

I am glad to hear that Google is trying to protect the freedom of speech with Google Ideas, but I wonder how it goes along with the "self-censorship" they are practicing in their search results in places like communist China.

As far as I could tell from their website, they aren't active in China, yet. Check out that image of their current users and you can see which parts of the world Google Ideas is being used. :)
