Hi Mike, Of course, the challenge is maintaining so many company Websites, including your personal site. I'm thinking businesses will generally need to make a decision about which social networks are most important for staying in touch with their customers. Maintaining a truly deep presence on most or all of even the major communities is becoming an unattainable challenge."
Less of a time waster maybe and more of a time sink? Online marketing is time CONSUMING. No other way to put it. It's the nature of the beast. And since techniques and trends keep changing, automation is just impossible...and a bad idea. If marketing is your thing, spend the time. If not, hire somebody to do it. Either way, you will reap the benefits of your investment, so it's not really a waste at all. "
Probably something none of us think enough about in this social media business age. But if you've invested the time a resources in establishing a brand (or even just a good name in your industry) it can be frustrating to see it snatched away like that. Great job confronting the issue and other business owners who have met with similar circumstances should certainly follow your lead!"
Always thought this was a huge problem even when I was in my early 20's...and not just for the folks who get passed over. It's a waste of resources for businesses who make hiring decisions on this basis and for society at large. I know there are those who will raise rational arguments for hiring young despite rules on age discrimination. Here's the thing. It's IMPOSSIBLE to determine the performance level or commitment of an individual based on age. Many managers have found this out the hard way. "
