Does Facebook Advertising Work For Small Business? -The Small Business Playbook
"I agree it can work, but I think the properly implementing part is really important as many small businesses waste money trying to run an effective advertising campaign themselves. I also think Facebook should be scrutinized more as click fraud for advertising is rampant right now and they don't seem to care to try and fix it."What Spending 117K Has Taught Me About Working With Freelancers - The Small Business Playbook
"Martin: I haven't read the other books, hope to one day. I'd like to see more collaboration built into the platforms where you can do video and work on projects within the platform. I'm sure it'll come soon."What Spending 117K Has Taught Me About Working With Freelancers - The Small Business Playbook
"I don't follow freelancing blogs or anything like that, mostly it's from my own trial and error. Tyrone Shum out of Australia runs a pretty good blog on outsourcing and Chris Ducker has an outsourcing company in the Philippines and always has good info."The Smoking Gun for Deleted Google Author Images
"It stands for "Click Through Rate", which is the % of people that click on your PPC advert in relation to how many times it was displayed. When Google was showing images for authors in the organic SERPS (search engine results page), click through rates fell on the paid adverts Google displayed (that's the theory and somewhat proven by this article) so they removed images to restore higher CTR's for the paid ads, which is Google's #1 source of revenue."6 Questions To Ask Yourself Before Starting a Business - The Small Business Playbook
"Hey Martin, I agree and disagree with you. I agree when you make the decision to start a business you're not sacrificing but are making a conscious decision to invest your resources in another manner. Where I disagree is when you have loved ones involved. When there are other people involved (spouse, children, etc) then there are real sacrifices involved, even if they are for (hopefully) a greater good. Whenever you dedicate yourself to something, you have to stop dedicating yourself to something else.....like Oprah Winfrey said, "You can have it all, just not at the same time". Taking a "rational self-interest" approach to building a business when you have a family is where you build a successful business at the possible expense of your family and friends. You see it almost everywhere, successful business person, a trail of ruined relationships behind them. I think for most people they want both and they both need to be taken into consideration. I encourage you to read Meg Hirshberg's column in Inc magazine, I think she does a great job describing what it's like "being along for the ride"."Subscribe
