10 Great Ways To Use Evernote For Your Business - The Small Business Playbook
"Cam Card is a pretty neat app, it's from the same makers as Cam Scanner, which is awesome. I might check out the Moleskin notebooks, up until now, it's only been available for iOS, but I believe they just launched for Android. I've always taken photos of my notes with Evernote, it works pretty good without a Moleskin. Evernote includes free OCR for images and OCR for PDF's for premium members."What Your Business Can Learn From Franchising
"Hey Heather, If a business has visions of expansion, then a more formal business structure needs to come in to play, or else expansion is near impossible. If you're happy with being a 1-2 employee business, that is equally terrific and you may not need as much structure. Many business owners have difficulty transitioning from solopreneur to entrepreneur. Many times it's due to the inability to replicate the way "they" do things hiring/training their employees. Once you go beyond a few employees, you're no longer able to have your finger on every detail of your business. To your comment, I think there is a misconception that creating a formal set of standards and procedures will turn your business into a cookie cutter operation and take away from your uniqueness. To finish with an example of how structure and creativity can go hand in hand, Shakespeare created some of the greatest poetry in history using Sonnets, which follows a rigid set of rules for structure and cadence. "Great list! I find that many small business owners have trouble with #8, letting go of the Turkeys. Nobody wants to be the bad guy. Those Turkeys slowly start to wreck havoc on the team culture and their continued presence and poor performance reflects poorly on the business owner in the eyes of their hard working team members."What Online Marketing Channels Do Consumers Trust The Most?
"I think the results from this survey are from the perspective of brands/big companies using these platforms. As you already know, most of them do a terrible job at using social media/email marketing....they are still stuck in the "push my message" mindset, which just doesn't work with these channels. Just like how blogging is a great platform, most brands and big companies can't help but to turn them into Advertorials, thus making them useless."What's Your Local Marketing Plan Look Like? - 3Bug Media
"You're so right Heather, lots of opportunity if you're ready to deal with the learning curve. Google+ (Google Places) alone has enables small businesses with little in the form of SEO to leap frog ahead of national brands with million dollar SEO plans. The search engines are trying to make everything local and have given local businesses an edge over the big brands. Franchises are starting localize their location specific unit pages as well as creating local content for their blogs, something to watch out."SEO Agencies Turn to Guest Posting: Google’s Chase Continues
"Great article, it covers a concern I've had for a while now. Most of the old SEO tricks are dead, turning SEO's to guest blogging as a central link building strategy. I agree that SEO agencies will either go away or have to become real internet marketing companies. My blog has seen guest posting requests from agencies go from 1 a week to 10-15 a day, most of which are blatant link grabs with generic content produced in some far off land. Guest blogging is so valuable, I really don't want to see it go the way of the infographic, beaten to death and abused until Google has to step in and devalue it."10 Ways To Improve Conversions Rates For Your Business - The Small Business Playbook
"I haven't read that one Martin, though It's now on my watch list! The AIDA funnel/concept is over 100 years old and it still works, especially for local businesses. I think the challenge is finding the right channels to garner that attention and then learning how to create a compelling offering/copy to generate that interest and desire. What channels do you find works for you?"Subscribe
