Unfortunately like you say, authority is established pretty quickly in the speaking game, creates an instant shift in the minds of the audience. The slick em quicks, of the world know how to milk that for all its worth unfortunately. You're right I dont think it will change in a hurry. Sadly it creates a poor image/rep for the speaking industry, and there are some damned good ones out there. I suppose like all things in life, theres good and bad our job is to try to distinguish and shine a light on the good stuff.
