Why Should I Vote for YOU on Biz Sugar?
"Hi Heidi, Thanks so much for your wonderful post. As a member of the BizSugar team, I can tell you it perfectly exemplifies the philosophy we've been communicating to members since BizSugar's beginnings. Thanks for being more than just a user of the site. Thanks for being a participant in the community."The Value of Deep Links
"Resistance on the part of some companies, newspapers spring to mind here, to deep links shows old fashioned thinking and no real clear understanding of how the Internet works. Want to avoid hundreds of bloggers promoting just one page of your site it might not have occurred to you to market? Why? There's rarely a good thoughtful answer to this question."Copy is King and Other Common Lies
"Excellent point. Of course, copy-writing isn't really the problem here. It's not really knowing your audience or market. As a professional blogger I can tell you that the best content is aimed at finding and identifying that audience and determining their needs. Products services and any further marketing approach should come out of this exercise."The Accountant’s Office: You Can Outsource Just About Anything
"Read this post and loved it. Amazingly, outsourcing still seems like a dirty word to some even though in many cases we're talking about small business outsourcing because they don't have the money to hire someone or the time to do something themselves. So it's the difference between success and failure for some even if it's associated with downsizing and maximizing profit at large corporations."Do You Need To Be Sexy/Boring...Kaizenblog Recap
"Hmmm. Well, I don't think I would ever advise anyone to be boring in their business as a path to success. But then I'm not so sure I agree with the categorization of a slowly growing organic business as "boring" either. Slow and organic growth may be boring to the business owner who must grow slowly instead of with massive strides, but it seems to me customers shouldn't find your product boring. They should be passionate about what you do whether there happen to be a lot of them or not. "Automate Emails to Increase ROI : All About ROI
"Interesting tools, Jim. I think many people use this kind of technology but maybe not to the extent it could be used. I do sometimes wonder, however, even with acquired prospects who have presumably given their permission in some way to be sent regular marketing e-mails, whether there is ever any negative reaction to being on an automated e-mail list. I personally find myself deleting the majority of these things even after I've signed up to receive them. What I DON'T find myself deleting is regular e-mails that contain valuable info related to a product, field or industry rather than a sales offer. For instance regular e-mails I get from a blogging coach who sends out info and tips on blogging as a way of trying to entice me to sign up for a course. Am I alone on this one? "Lead Nurturing or Backing Up Relationships?
"A great thing to think about on the subject of both relationships and leads, Bill. Actually, I can think of quite a few people I might describe as one or the other or both and I treat the situation pretty much the same way. Perhaps one example of this would be people you know and keep in touch with because both you and they feel you would like to be in business with each other at some point but neither of you have quite figured out how? Are you wasting money on learning and development in your business?
"Great post. Really. The best way to answer this question is actually to ask what you can loose by not focusing on learning and development. There is almost always a cost for shortsightedness even if it takes time to become apparent."
