The initial anecdotal evidence is that current customers are happy to be supporting a local company. But the entrepreneurs lose the marketing value of the well-known Midas name. I definitely hope this helps in the long term and as I continue to work with them we'll know better."
If you're interested in more about why the owners made the business decision to break away from Midas and go local, this news story tells more: http://bangordailynews.com/pressrelease/former-midas-locations-in-centra-southern-maine-rebranded-as-maine-auto-service/?ref=search"
Really good point. I can't tell you how many clients I work with who have no idea who owns their domain or hosting accounts or how to access them when we start a redesign project. We end up spending a lot of time (and delay the project) as they hunt around. When we take over a site, or launch a new one, I always try to make a clear point of advising the client about all their logins, access points, ownership, etc."
