Great advice Frederique. Taking time out is something that us entrepreneurs feel guilty about and we really shouldn't. I know that in order for me to stay top of my game and be creative, that I need to take a break. Sometimes its a cup of tea and a kit-kat; other times it's a run. But great advice. Hi Ginger & Sian, I read this earlier in the week but didn't get a chance to comment. I whole-heartedly agree that you should have a mentor/coach to chat to outside of family and (employee) friends. It's often hard to justify but all the business owners that I've worked with say the same thing - you need someone who is objective to your business but someone on your side at the same time. Great interview, Sian. All the best with the business Ginger & bringing lots more folk to the Emerald Isle. Take care, Denise"
Hi Chris, Loved the article. You're right about using the right word and power means so many different things. I like your take on the 5 different meanings of power - each has their own individual meaning that everyone can relate to. Thanks for sharing on bizsugar.com Take care, Denise"
Hi Sian, I love this post. What a joy to read - it gives the person who is just thinking about starting up real advice. You have everything here from all things practical (keyword research, competition, location) to the not so practical but important personal development information (being authentic, preparing for the good times and bad times). Wish I had of read this when before I started! Thanks Sian, Denise"
Elish - what a fantastic article. I used to attend and organise our participation at tradeshows when I worked in corporate marketing. Everything you said resonated with me. I love your approach - the four Ws and H - it makes this article so well laid out. Events should really be part of a marketing mix - you're right. You can't beat it for the face to face interactivity. Well done on a great article. Denise"
Thanks for cutting down the list to five top services. How did you manage to cut the list down to five providers?! I've been hearing and reading about affiliates as a way of online promotion. You included it here in your list but no related company. What are your thoughts on affiliate companies, like Clickbank? Take care, Denise"
Stephanie, I recently taught my marketing students the elements of management as per a marketing management book. They included motivation, communication, control and planning. Organisation didn't come into it! Yet the academics should certainly consider it as an element of management. I know that when I'm stressed, I go into OCD mode. Everything has a place. It's so much better when things are organised. To say, I don't have time is just an excuse. Thanks for sharing this and giving me the gentle reminder to get organised this evening for tomorrow! Take care, Denise"
Wow! I'm only just getting my head around the new look analytics. But I'm going to book mark this page and come back to it again. I agree, you really must decide what your metrics are...and once you have this information is super. Thanks for sharing such great information. I'll definitely have to give that private code a go. (when I get my head around it!) Kind Regards, Denise"
