Compete With The Big Guys: 5 Ways To Make Your Business Seem Larger Than It Is
"Free website builders and business cards design websites should be banned!! Professionalism requires a professional input. Great tips, I am very careful about design though. As a small business owner, I find a lot of designers tend to "pull something" out of a bag, and can lose the sense of the person/business. It's important to feel I own the design, and that it is representing my business, my personality, my character, and is not just full of typical clichés and stock images. And Daniel makes valid points about design also, re images, logo etc. Own domain is IMPERATIVE, as is the ability to move hosting etc. As a consumer, a freemail account is a NO-NO - I walk away and look elsewhere (or click elsewhere) Social interaction helps small business. I will look for recommendations, or interact with a service before I use it as a consumer. I find twitter and others great for this."3 Questions You Must Answer to Stop Your Business Going The Way of the Stagecoach!
"A great read Gary - and the key for me is in your final comments - "Step Back!" It's so hard to ask those simple three questions when fire-fighting within the business every day. Yet, a step away from the business allows for that headspace to think and answer the Qs honestly and thoroughly."Tweak Your Biz TV Talks Digital with Grafton Media
"Dave and the team are an inspiration for any business who just needs to get on with business. They certainly talk the talk and walk the talk, especially by getting involved in the BizSugar #RockYourBiz competition. It's a pleasure to share this space with them. "Hi Beatrice, I love your analogy for a Social Media campaign and strategy, esp your last point, which at first glance may contradict the earlier points. But emotional and mental rest are imperative. Rather than going full hog until total burnout, it's a good idea to take a whole day off, or two as you suggest. This will not be noticed as much, esp as tweets can scheduled and feed into FB for a day or two. Responsible self care and care of our success of going for gold. Great post - thank you!"Use Your Imagination To Grow Your Brand
"Great post Susan, I very much enjoyed reading it. I think imagination is very important when developing our business. But to get to that point takes dedication to be childlike, creative and visualising beyond what we know and already experience. My biggest challenge is always looking at how others do it - then thinking I have to do the same - when I should be tapping into my own resources and curiosity to bring forth expanded or new ideas. It's hard when one is trying to keep on the pulse of competitors (which is our default position). Some time away from the day to day of running our business helps to broaden perspective. One thing I have noticed with being part of a business community, is ideas come un-expectantly from others in their own industry - this can be both refreshing and empowering. You have exposed our need to be more childish - it's where the imagine has most momentum!"16 Marketing Ideas For Re-using Derelict Space
"I particularly love the ideas of pop-up shops etc - I agree that the online following or community is important to provide marketing and create a buzz. They are becoming more popular and are definitely a win-win situation. And they provide a key buying message - "buy now, cos we won't be here in a week" :) The others are fab ideas, and important to be mindful of the caveats too Elish. Great post!"Subscribe
