Thinking of Creating a Commission Only Sales Team? What You Need to Know!
"Your 8 step plan is ingenious in its simplicity - it's getting the balance right as you say in your article. I think as business gets more social, the snake oil will slime away to the hole where it belongs, and transparency, respect and honesty will shine through. Yesterday I heard a comment that it doesn't matter what sales people "think" of the product they are selling - this goes against my gut judgement - I personally feel more inclined to buy from someone who is genuinely passionate about the product or service they are selling, and not just a good liar. I feel this works the other way around too and I should feel my agents are excited about my products/services. I love this post Lady Tori! And I love the idea of advertising to those who are already advocates :)"Hope Is Not A Strategy Neither A Metric.
"A great investor told me yesterday - you need metrics!!! Measure, measure, measure - and this was from an Investor AND and Entrepreneurial point of view. And then I read your post John, and it just amplifies the need to look at the figures, and not just look at them, but make sense of them! As most biz owners hate accounts and number crunching, they generally leave it up to their finance team or accountant - or worse still, the end of year accounts. As my investor friend said - " a perfect way to go broke" Great post John, thanks."Fascinating Motivating Smart Tactics That Can Help Your Business Grow
"Hi Warren, Fantastic points made here - it seems we have done full circle from the barefoot long hair days of Steve Jobs early workplace, to hierarchical methods and back to the "family" style organisation. It strikes me that "social" was always on the agenda for employee satisfaction and motivation, but somehow fell down the numbered list. Thankfully it has popped up again as being imperative, as companies have more space and time for their people rather than chasing the "next big thing" that booms seem to illicit. Having social in every aspect of our lives now, is it not logical that it should dominate in the workplace too? Like, let's all respect eachother, motivate eachother and get on with the job in hand. Or, as a race, will we always have politics and deals and backstabbing? Great thought provoker post Warren, thanks!"4 Effortless Ways To Improve Your Elevator Pitch
"Different pitches are required for different events, meetings and circumstances. And stories are the essence of human interaction. You mention benefits in No 2, I remember going to a sales seminar, and they discussed FAB, features advantages and benefits. Essentially the message was that benefits are what the potential client really wants to hear, and this should spill over into all written and online content and copy (including video). Great post Sean, personally I have actually gone into an elevator and tested for acoustics!! Well, Ok I haven't done - YET, but it should be considered :)"The Only Sales Objection You Will Ever Need To Overcome
"A great article by Pawel, and great simple pointers. All business owners I work with, know the importance and benefit of marketing, some do better than others. Many, however, do not "sell" themselves well. And I would add, because of the nature of one of the areas I work in, Coaching, the fear begins with the business owner. Feelings aside, if one goes to a meeting with a client, and is afraid (their own stuff) how on earth could that instill confidence in the potential client? Confidence instills confidence, and if we can learn what our customers need, provide the solution with absolute confidence, follow it up (TOP notch customer service as you mention) and get paid, then we are all successful. And we maintain our credibility and good standing :)"Why SEO Is Not Optional – A Back To Basics Guide
"Sarah, I love this article, I have learned a few things that I can do very easily for my own website. A well explained article. The difference reminds me of shops, whether you are on main street with a great window display, or on a side street with no display. Being seen is important, and most importantly non-techie business owners can do a lot for their own website, in small steps as mentioned in your article. "Why Social Media and Sex Don’t Motivate Millennial’s and Baby Boomers
"Warren, John - great post - SEX - in marketing speak, I agree it's the lazy way out. I and am both delighted you used my suggestions for your title, and disappointed you used sex to sell your article ;) I think "Edutainment" has a huge part to play in maintaining interest - I know this from the training environment - learning need to be both educational / informative as well as fun! (and Niall's typo below reflects that). Does sex sell? Yes. Is it going to be part of social marketing? It already is as far as I am concerned."How Much Do I Need to Retire?
"Very interesting read - just wondering where I can get $1.125 million from (€910,250). I fear many people really do not know what they spend their disposable income on. They may know the bills, but what they spend on food, clothes, entertainment etc etc can add up on a daily basis without us really realising it. So perhaps, by looking at the future this way will help us or force us to look at our spending and help us make better choices and better decisions about our way of life. I have been through this many times (every year in fact) as a self employed young woman. It empowers me to know where my hard earned money is going, and my future is not so scary as I am a better position to plan for it (or not!). If we took better control of our finances, we would have better control of our spending, risks, and ultimately our futures. Just my 2 € cents :)"Subscribe
Effective 5 Step Strategy for Dealing with Angry Customers
"I really enjoyed this post Alex, I especially love your comment - "If getting new clients is a skill then retaining old ones is an art." Many biz owners think they have to constantly look for new clients, when they can seek new business with existing or old clients. And we must not forget, they are our advocates and part of our sales and marketing team. Build the tribe! Great post!"
