Smart Business - 20 Reasons To Review 2012 And Look Ahead To 2013
"Thank you Martin, Not all of them will be of interest, but some of them are amazing - it's good to keep an eye on the not-so-obvious sites and major things happening around the world - the little victories all add up - I hope you enjoy them :)"Payroll - Is Your Small Business Paying For The Right Services?
"I seriously dont know how professionals keep up to date with changes in taxes, laws and reliefs with relation to pay-roll and employees. It's a minefield. I think outsourcing anything should be reviewed on a regular basis and not given the "out of sight - out of mind" treatment. Great post Dave! "Small Business Advice Programme - Interview with John McSweeney
"Aside from the corporate and political connections, the programme and John himself do trojan work with many small businesses. The Mentors, have "been there, done that" and are invaluable for the small business owner, and it is more important than ever before to spread the word about the services and support that are available. Well done on a great interview Elli, and let's hope John continues to get the support to provide this great service."3 Mistakes Small Businesses Make When Marketing
"Speaking of Apple iPod Rob, I am very impressed with the way they used the white ear buds to market their product even further - using the customer :) Beats a free calendar or pen any day! Anyway, great tips there and I take on your point about niche - we can too often want to capture everyone, all the time - perhaps we can create niches within bigger niches to suit a season or time of year."The Zen Of Better Business Blogging
"Great post Ben, You followed all your own advice - well done! I enjoyed - Emulate. Practise. Refine. Repeat. - it is so tempting to fall into the imitate hole when we find great blogs and ideas - challenge is to stay true to our own personalities when researching and writing - I read a tip a few days ago about rehashing older (and still relevant) blog posts - I think it could be useful for updating facts, opinions and evolving an idea :) "Facebook’s Failed IPO
"Hi Simon, interesting post! I stay well clear of chancing my arm with shares. I read an article yesterday that convinced me it's just not for me. However, as the rules and goalposts change with relation to traditional methods and angles, I think Facebook and peers, can teach us a new form of going public. Nothing is certain in this game, and just because they survived since, doesn't mean investing in FB is now a sure bet. Just look at the history of Apple - enough to give anyone a heart attack over the past few weeks (especially the past few days) What built the stock markets before are not what may sustain them in future - the future is so uncertain for us mortals anyway, I certainly won't be cashing in my post office savings :)"Subscribe
Why Telecommuting Employees May Be Just What Your Business Needs
"I have clients come to me that struggle with this very concept. It mostly comes down to time management, general job satisfaction and ability to manage oneself when surrounded by distractions in the home or home office. Telecommuting is not for everyone, or every type of business. For those that can get a handle on their own self-management - the rewards are 10 fold. The benefits to both employee and employer go beyond basic cost and time savings, and it's a win-win! From a teleworkers point of view, a dedicated space is important to be able to separate working tasks and working time from personal tasks and personal time. Great article!"
