Good quote from the post by Mary Emma Allen: "Obama and the Democrats, as well as others promoting the global warming agenda, are trying to push this bill through as quickly as possible. (They’re ignoring that more and more scientists say glocal warming is over emphasized.) They are using scare tactics to push it through Congress and impose this tax on the American public and businesses.""
Shawn, Is this an example of the "tribe" that Seth Godin is talking about? I will be involved in a fan page for a new business venture called NetZpider. Kalle Blomqvist a.k.a Charlie Bloom has recently created fan pages for the different brands and has done a promotional kick-off in order to get new fans. Sign up for all three fan pages and you could win a t-shirt."
Great video. The presenter did a great job. I have made several of the mistakes mentioned in the video, but I have always been myself and never pretended to be someone else. For more on my mistakes, please read my post, Five Lessons Learned from my Startup — And why I’d Do It Again, on Open Forum."
I think it boils down to a two-way street communication and really grasp an understanding of the trader principle of exchanging value for value. I think that alternatives to regular hiring practices will come up in the future. Here in Sweden you could use something called "self employment business". You rent / hire your employer. You send invoices through a special company specialized on helping freelancers, solo entrepreneurs, etc. They take care of all the paperwork, taxes, etc. They take a cut of circa 10% of the invoice. Here is some information on this new type of business employment: http://www.egenanstallning.nu/ee_eng.htm"
Shawn, I am not an expert on PR at all, but I think it is time to look at new ways of promoting your stuff. Tim Ferriss is a good example of this attitude. I wrote the following comment on Small Business CEO: It is time to challenge regular PR. I recommend you to read Stefan Engeseth’s new book, The Fall of PR and the Rise of Advertising. You could download it for free (PDF version) on his site (DetectiveMarketing.com)."
