Are You Busy Being Busy With Your Small Business Marketing?"Mac, Great comment. This could spark a conversation thread, I think! ;) Now it is time to vote! :) Susan: I do think the 80/20 rule - Pareto principle is in play here too. Not all the members of a community want to participate actively in a way that they share comments, vote on stuff, link back, etc. 20% of the readers / visitors will participate with 80% of the content. Hopefully we will have great challenge here at BizSugar, increasing the percentage over time... I do think you could have different roles. I revert you to the Groundswell book and the six different profiles: Creators Critics Collectors Joiners Spectators Inactives Here at BizSugar we want to have all the profiles, excluding the inactives! ;) But you have to accept that a profile could change its activity level and for some reason become an inactive user for some time. No hard feelings here. Don't worry, be happy! Cheerio! :) Susan Oakes of m4bmarketing: "You spend more of your day, reading but not commenting on blogs, following others on Twitter and not participating, reading Google alerts and not taking some action""
Take Time To Communicate Effectively With Different Cultures"I am funny mood today, so I have to share a Monty Python sketch: "Dirty Hungarian Phrasebook." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6D1YI-41ao For your information, I spent three months in Sopron, Hungary, doing a school project for a manufacturing company. I enjoyed my time in Hungary, but I must say that Hungarian is probably one of the most difficult languages. I had to brush up on my German and I tried to teach some English to members of the older generation. I learned a few phrases and words in Hungarian. Mind you, no "dirty" words... ;)"
Take Time To Communicate Effectively With Different Cultures"Cindy, Hungarian is belonging to the same language group as Finnish and Estonian. The thing is that they don't really understand each other! ;) You will find some similarities in numbers and some words, but overall they are very different to each other."
The Gap Steps Up To Social Media"I don't see any article, only a page with the title, "Christian Harris.""
