So, what will happen when no family is making $500,000? Is the goal to take from the richer and let everyone become poorer in the long run? Do you have the right to your the fruits of your own labor, or not? Do you have the right to a free hair cut? If not, why free health care? For an answer to this question, listen to Dr. Leonard Peikoff's talk from 1993. You will find a wealth of information on the following micro site by the Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights: http://bit.ly/Fi0R9"
You are right that it didn't start with Obama. You have to "thank" Bush senior & junior for that heritage and the Presidents before that. I recommend you to check out Ayn Rand Center's site for a rational response to the financial crisis. You will find plenty of food for thought there. http://bit.ly/MF0mL"
Government should stay out of business. Let private business take care of the (laissez-faire) market. The state should protect the rights of the individual, by proving a police force, a military defense and a court system based on objective laws. I have been a favor of flat tax as the author, but nowadays I think it is better to have some kind of consumption tax and then phase out today's wide range of different taxes."
Good quote from the post by Mary Emma Allen: "Obama and the Democrats, as well as others promoting the global warming agenda, are trying to push this bill through as quickly as possible. (They’re ignoring that more and more scientists say glocal warming is over emphasized.) They are using scare tactics to push it through Congress and impose this tax on the American public and businesses.""
Shawn, Is this an example of the "tribe" that Seth Godin is talking about? I will be involved in a fan page for a new business venture called NetZpider. Kalle Blomqvist a.k.a Charlie Bloom has recently created fan pages for the different brands and has done a promotional kick-off in order to get new fans. Sign up for all three fan pages and you could win a t-shirt."
