Small Business Blogs: How To Avoid Being Boring
"Hi Conor, great post, Love it! Another I'd add is don't try to sell, well at least not in an obvious way! Also "Blogs where the authors are visible always gains my instant respect" is a great point, the blogs I read allow me in on the personalities and culture behind the business, allow me get to know you before I do business with you."Retailers: How To Sell Online In 60 Seconds
"Hi Christina, I would add that perhaps it's not always realistic to expect people to buy from your site from their first visit or even that want to buy something on their first visit, another thing to consider is how well does your website start to build their trust and how likely is someone to re-visit?"Tweetdeck: Helping You See The Wood From The Trees
"Hi Sian, I used to use Tweetdeck but changed to Hootsuite a while back! The main reason was that it gave much better analytics at that stage so I could analyse the best strategy for me and for clients, however from reading your post It seems that TD has introduced a lot of new features since I used it :)"Moore’s Law Now Applies To B2B Selling: Are You Ready?
"Great post John, sellers, sales departments and sales mangers can choose to fight or embrace what's happening. I agree with Adam below that many selling fundamentals remain but the sales/buying process has changed, with both now less obviously defined as before. For instance, a sales manager may read your blog above and the points will resonate because he or she is experiencing the difficulties mentioned. The comments feature of this blog or even LinkedIn or Twitter will allow them to start a conversation (buying process) with you here or elsewhere. What sales people have got to remember is that the online and offline worlds are now merged and dependent on each other. Choose to only operate in one and you place a severe limitation on yourself."How Should I Contact You?
"Hi Roisin, I think it's always best to ask yourself how would this customer like to be contacted, and if you are unsure just ask. I'm not sure I'm not sure I agree with you on Twitter, I personally find it very good, but that depends I suppose of what I am trying to say, so perhaps as you point out it works best in conjugation with some other form of communication?"Reviews: The Value Of Letting Customers Have Their Say
"Hi Lorna, I agree! Allowing customers to leave reviews/feedbacks is critical if you sell online and even negative reviews provide you with an opportunity to do something about it, therefore potentially turning the negatives into positives for your business. For me at least, you learn more about a company in how they handle difficult situations. Thanks for sharing, Niall"What Does Lionel Messi And A Successful Job Seeker Have In Common?
"Hi Greg, This is great advice and I would extend your point around networking to cover social media generally. There is no point connecting with someone online, unless you are prepared to follow through and attempt to start to build a relationship with that same person. Thanks for sharing, Niall "Subscribe
Multi-Channel Commerce: What's Your Strategy?
"Hi Jennie, I think what you have identified in this post is how business has and is following the consumer online. One of the questions that's often asked is about the ROI of social? but all too often the answer is sought with a short term focus. The reality is that many businesses have already got left behind, some noticing and trying desperately to make up the ground, others not even aware. The ROI for many of these businesses may simply be survival?"
