"David, Here is the opening to my contest entry: She snarls and growls as she sees me approaching. Perhaps it's the audible grumble emanating from the pit of my now empty stomach which gives it away and brings up her guard. Jealously, balanced for an attack on her four legs and paws, she braces for the defensive attack should it be deemed necessary. I see her teeth. FANGS! She now hisses... The refrigerator is empty, leaving Purina as the only source of nutrition in the entire house. I begin to contemplete the taste of my first meal in days...and ponder the implications of a painful bite. Though a wonderful companion, she is quite territorial when it comes to her food. Then she looks up at me and barks a terrible BARK! I have no problem translating dog-language into human: "You just had to go and quit your 9 to 5 to become a freelancer...you SHMUCK!"
