"Duncan, You're both right, it ultimately comes down to respecting the beliefs of others. The main problem I have is when clamping down on Christmas...or any other holiday for that fact becomes either governmental or corporate policy. Again, I'm reading of people who are being disciplined for wishing customers "Merry Christmas." Perplexing stuff. "Barney, Great post. But...happily for me, I am a writer. It gives me a lot of extra leeway that others don't really have. I can write about any silly, amusing, historic, philosophical, etc., etc, topic that I want. All I have to really do is entertain or inform those who are looking for a writer. It sort of gives me an edge...I don't envy "regular" businesspeople who have to stick to the rules. Good luck with your new blogging venture! "Duncan, Thanks for your kind thoughts. Double-schooling was definitely the pits. I gave up a lot of good stickball and flag football games (my mom wouldn't let me play tackle-football; typical neurotic mother) for school after school. I'm actually taking off of work for the next 6-8 weeks (doctors order) but will persist with blogging. I'm a writer after all. It brings me inner-peace. "Fiona, Nice job! I especially agree with the visual elements. Kids learn from a very young age to go for the colorful, the well-designed and the unique. Give them two balls to try it out: one plain white and the other colorful with polka-dots. No doubt which they will choose. Psychologists agree that these patterns follow us right into adulthood.
