Business History: How a Marketing Tool Allowed Every 1970s Boy to Own the Greatest Super-Car Ever Built!
"Great flicks and great cars. I always loved when the Lamborghini ditches the State Trooper Trans-Am in that opening scene. A car in a movie can really be a great branding tool. I suppose the opposite were the "Airport" movies of the 70s and 80s when the plane which always had problems was a Boeing. Sure they were none too pleased with that. "Hamed, I agree. Advertising and Marketing regard dreams and follow-thru. As far as work goes, diversions are nice. I just got back from a muddy walk with our dogs through the forest. Now it's back to work. Thanks for stopping by! Yoni "Get Your Head Out of the Clouds
"Dr. Reece, I must disagree wholeheartedly, though respectfully. My head is constantly in the clouds and I'm always reaching for the pie-in-the-sky. Sometimes I miss it, sometimes I grasp it and it's quite tasty! Dreams and fantasy fuel innovation. Reality is sometimes sucky. Dreams and fantasy are what fuels me and keep me going! "Chris, Great advice that will be the icing on the cake for those who can utilize this info...and that's not, sadly, everybody. I'm a firm believer that good "people managers" are born that way. They already are great people. Poor people managers, I've worked for many, are usually miserable wretches. It's like teaching doctors bedside manners. The good docs already know them...they come naturally. If a doctor has to learn them, I don't want him or her as my doctor! Yoni"Subway passes McDonald's in global presence
"David, Interesting, though when I lived in the US (I departed in the mid 90s), I never liked fast food. It was always a good old-fashioned diner for me. One of those with the small juke box at the table, a waitress named "Flo' or "Dottie," and the best meatloaf and mashed potatos this side of the Mississippi. All for about 5 bucks. When you compare a shitty sub or McDoody burger, there's no comparison. That being said (manifesto/rant), great article :) Yoni"Subscribe

"Susan, Thanks! From what I read, posters really hit their peak in the 70s and 80s. Kids, the college crowd (decorating their dormitories) etc. were the main buyers. You are probably right...with multimedia, it's now easier to have a screensaver and change it as fads come and go. Yoni"
