Fail to the Redskins - A Premium Brand Gone Awry
"Love it! the demise of a proud sports team definitely fits the mold of a brand gone bad. First thing they might want to do is chang their name...maybe to something more PC. Redskins? Yup, they're Native Americans. Would be like a team (stand by for Jewish reference...I'm Jewish) The New York Money-Grubbers or the New York Hooknoses. Imagine a name referencing racial traits of African-Americans or Hispanics. With a proper name they can be proud of it would be time to rebuild them into the dynasty they once were. BTW: I loved that Riggins!"100 Things to Watch in 2011
"Jake, Great presentation: A MUST SEE! I particularly like Bamboo? Why? I just saw a special on the Discovery Channel about building skyscrapers in the Far East. To my surprise, they actually use bamboo as a construction scaffold. Apparently they will need miliions of tons for this purpose. Here is a great article, brief but on the subject: http://www.nytimes.com/2002/03/27/world/hong-kong-journal-for-raising-skyscrapers-bamboo-does-nicely.html Great post which I highly enjoyed! "SUSAN, WELCOME BACK!!!!! How I see myself is a jack-of-all-trades, somewhat knowledgeable in all, but an expert in none...perhaps just in writing. My marketing abilities are scarce, I rely on experts like you! What I try to do is attract customers with writing, but for the purposes of my blog, to offer some basic Business advice. As far as marketing my business, it is strictly through my blog and Tweeting, it seems to be working. Thanks for a GREAT post! Yoni"Write a blog post – get paid $1000
""I like the idea of $1000" he says as the eyes pop out of his head. "I love the idea of taking the old lady on vacation" he exclaims as the smell of suntan lotion wafts into his nostrils. Yet he knows nothing about personal finance. He wonders, perplexed by the thought, of who would read a blog post from someone who has been thousands of dollars in debt for years now. His sobs turn into tears as he knows he has nothing of substance to contribute. Yet he will follow the contest to see the plethora of great advice which might extricate himself from his pitiful financial hell on earth. Oh the joys of being a freelancer! "Subscribe
Ted Williams: When Pop Culture and Brands Collide
"Traci, Great post on a great guy who is proving to be an inspiration and incredible comeback story. You are right...a lot of people are wondering if this guy can stand up to all of the pressure. But in the meantime, many companies will try to use his talents...perhaps exploit them for their own purposes. Great though-provoking article! yoni "
